How do I take care of Sterling Silver items?
Sterling silver and gold-filled materials will tarnish with time as they react with gases in the air, a process that is expediated by factors like humidity and pollution. To keep your jewelry shiny and tarnish-free, I would recommend storing each piece in an air-tight polyethylene bag (e.g. a Ziplock bag); a strip of anti-tarnish paper in the bag may also help. Some jewelry boxes are also made with tarnish-reducing linings. Try to avoid long-term contact with materials like rubber and paper products (unless it is acid-free).
If your jewelry does tarnish, various jewelers and online sources sell polishing cloths which have been treated with tarnish-removing solutions.
